EUREKA!!!!!!! (springs)

We were fortunate enough to have my Aunt Barb (thanks, Barb) stay with the girls last weekend giving us the opportunity to get out of town. We went to Eureka Springs and stayed in a cabin on Beaver Lake 1 & 1/2 mi. down a dirt/gravelish road. It was VERY relaxing and we enjoied it lots. If you have never been there you should try it out...lots of neat little shops and quaint restaurants. They had a biker convention going on while we were there. It was a little noisy in town. I imagine, during the fall when the trees are turning it is GORGEOUS! Everything is still pretty green right now. After our relaxing 2 nights away, Shane started loading the car Monday morning and found this--------whatcha gonna do? 1 & 1/2 miles down a dirt road. Do you change the tire? No! Of course not. The maintenance man for the Beaver Lake Cabins had noticed the flat already that morning and had been watching for us to get around and came by and offered up an air compressor. They tire actually had a cut in it....So with a can of fix-a-flat we were able to check out and start down the road. We went about 4 miles down the road to the Exxon on the corner and bought 2 more cans of fix-a-flat, used 1 and put more air in and kept on truckin'. My suburban has this great feature that shows you the psi on the tires so we were able to actually watch the air leave the tire. If you have been to Eureka you know that it is in the hills.....which means lots of curves. We were watching the psi go down, and I spotted a big yellow sign that said

WARNING: ROAD CURVY AND STEEP NEXT 6 & 1/2 miles!!

You know I get sick...Shane is watching the tire go down and I am about to lose it!! It all turned out fine, Shane stopped to get more air and use the last can of fix-a-flat and decided to just change the tire (finally). The most shocking part is, I was pretty calm. (thanks, dramamine) We still had a great time and lots of needed relaxation.
